Product Owner
A servant leader and an impediment remover. Shields team from distractions. May be a PM or Scrum Master.
Team Facilitator
Produced by the Product Owner and is the ordered list of all the features presented in a user story form.
Product Backlog
A subset of the project backlog selected by the highest business priorities. Development team plans for how they will deliver on an iteration goal.
Sprint or Iteration Backlog
Completed work at the end of an iteration that meets “Definition of Done”. Sufficient quality that it could be released if the Product Owner chooses. Represents some, but not all, of the product owner’s vision.
Minimum Viable Product - MVP
The development team pulls highest priority work identified by the product owner from the product backlog to sprint/iteration backlog. Typically lasts 8 hours or less.
Iteration or Sprint Planning
15-minute meeting to inspect progress towards the sprint/iteration goal. Team members share what they did the previous day, what they will do today, and what impediments they face to collaborate for the next 24 hours.
Daily Stand-Up or Daily Scrum
Inspect the outcome of the Sprint/Iteration with Stakeholders which typically lasts 4 hours or less. The team demonstrates a working product increment live and the Product Owner explains which items are considered “done”.
Sprint Review or Demo
The team inspects how the last Sprint/Iteration went and they identify improvements to make to the next Sprint/Iteration. This generally lasts 3 hours or less.
Iteration or Sprint Retrospective
Contiuous activity to create, refine, estimate, and prioritize product backlog items for next Sprint or Iteration. The Product Owner owns the refinement process with help from the team.
