What are prospect fields?
Pardot accounts include a set of default fields to gather information.
You can create custom fields to help capture info tailored to your needs.
You can configure fields globally and on a per-form basis.
Illustrate how to create, edit and map fields?
1) Pardot settings > object & field config > account / opportunity / prospect fields
2) Click + Add custom field
3) Enter field name
4) Select field type from drop down box
5) Don’t change custom field ID.
6) Map the field to a Salesforce field name
7) Choose optional field settings
8) Click create custom field to save

what is essential when mapping custom fields in both lead and contact object to the same Pardot field?
To map a custom fields in both lead and contact object to the same Pardot field, the API name of the Salesforce fields must be identical
why shouldn’t you map pardot number type fields to salesforce phone type fields?
Phone fields contain non-number characters and don’t sync to Pardot correctly. Instead map SF phone type > Pardot text type
What are Prospect Account fields?
- Prospect accounts group prospects together that work under the same company
- These are default fields - predetermined
where can Custom Opportunity fields be used?
- Custom opportunity fields can be used in automation and segmentation rules.
- Prospect Opportunity rule criteria uses relation group functionality that lets users define multiple rules.
- When used with the match all rule type, the opportunity must match all criteria for that prospect to match
How to create a segmentation / automation rule using opportunity fields?
1) create rule
2) select prospect opportunity as a criteria
3) from the match prospect drop down, select related with properties
4) In the section that appears, select prospect opportunity custom fields from first drop down
5) from second drop down, select your custom field
6) choose an operator. For checkbox fields, select is empty for unchecked and is 1 for checked.
7) enter or select value you want to match
8) finish creating rule
Can you relabel Predefined values in custom fields?
- you can relabel values in custom fields and assign profiles, and add prospects to lists based on the value prospects choose
1) while editing a custom field, select use predefined values (for checkbox, radio buttons, drop downs, and multi-select)
2) (optional) select a value from the prefill with dropdown
3) in the value section, add and remove the fields values. Use the advanced option to further customise your fields
a. Use the A icon to relabel the value. The prospect sees the label, but the original value is recorded on the prospects record
b. Use the grid icon to apply a profile to the prospect when the prospect selects the field value.
c. Use the list icon to add prospect to a list when prospect selects the field value.
4) save the field when finished.

- Radio number - customised radio button. Prospect can select multiple options out of several
- checkbox
- Dropdown
- TextArea - large, free-form text box.
- Multi-Select - custom list. Prospect can select multiple options out of several
- Hidden - can capture data, but isn’t visible on forms
- CRM User - can’t use this field on forms
