Inattention: 6 or more for at least 6 months younger than 17, 5 symptoms for older

- seat is left in situations where remaining seated is expected
- waiting his turn difficult
- Interrupts or intrudes on others
- Fidgets with or taps hands or feet or squirms in seat
- Talks excessively
- Blurts out answer before question has been completed
- Runs about or climbs in situations where inappropriate. Older may be limited to feeling restless
- Often “on the go” acting as if “driven by motor”
- Silence difficult: Unable to play or engage in leisure activities quietly

Several inattentive or hyperactive-impulsive symptoms were present prior to age 12
