Q

1023 What are the meaning of the green, red and gray line in GPS status in Daily Activity Report?

A

Green: Phone was on and GPS was on
Red: Phone was on but GPS was off
Gray: Out of service because phone was off or logged out of the app
White: No GPS data uploaded yet

In colors other than white, the GPS state information within each 30-minute interval determines the displayed GPS status, based on the oldest available data point. For instance, even if the GPS was ‘on’ for the majority of the 30-minute interval, if the initial few minutes were ‘off’, GPS status would be red.

Q

1037 Can we force the field staff to keep ON the GPS?

A

In company settings, SENRI can only force GPS on when Field Staff creates record and customer registration but not always. This is Google policy that mobile app cannot force GPS on at all time. However, we observe some MDM is possible to lock GPS settings so please install MDM separately. If FS uses private smartphone, it may be difficult to agree installation of MDM.<br></br><br></br>https://bit.ly/3GvwdYz

A
  • Activity cannot be created under fake GPS.
  • SENRI map, distance, customer location and all other GPS related functions does not capture fake GPS as the mobile app doesn’t send fake location data.
  • You can see when fake GPS is detected in visit timeline of daily activity report.
  • Unless GPS is turned off, GPS status in daily activity report will show on even if the fake GPS is on.
  • MDM can restrict fake GPS app to install

Q

1096 Why is any GPS dot not showing for 1 hour although GPS shows on?

A

Here is possible senarios;
1. Field staff moves very fast (more than 60km/h)
2. Field staff moves very slow or does not move (less than 200m)
3. Also when the app is closed, GPS dots will be shown less than when the app is opened.

Q

1097 FS is saying SENRI is draining battery so battery does not last. Is it possible?

A

If smartphone is only for SENRI, battery can last for approximately 2 days. FS may misunderstand it because some android phones notify FS the app using battery most except for google apps.
This notification is inevitable when we track FS at all time and the app syncs automatically every 30 minutes but still it can last at least 1 day.
For someone having 1week trip to rural area, buying battery bank may be recommended.

Q

1098 Can we track the milage of the sales rep?

A

It is possible, but it has 20% inaccuracy in calculation. Since we calculate this based on the distance of GPS blue dots, it may not able to capture curving movement well.

Q

1103 What would you explain as risks for customers who wants to introduce GPS tracking function only?

A

We don’t recommend customers to use tracking function only because - Strong resistance from fields staff expected - Often the case, vehicle tracking system can give the similar function with cheaper price We recommend customers to use at least visit report. Often the case, it gives better information of number of visit and customer details.

17
Q

1104 What is the limitation of GPS tracking to be shared to the customer who has strong motivation to track GPS?

A

a) There are several ways that FS avoid being tracked: turning off SENRI / turning off mobile
b) Strong resistance from FS
c) GPS quality not necessarily perfect withlow quality smartphone and may show wrong location information (typically Nigeria and Tanzania)
d) No real time tracking: we track every 10-60secondsbut data shared every 30 min

**note: important to share those limitation so that we can have better expectation control in advance

18
Q

1105 What are the cons of GeoFencing that should be shared to prospective customers?

A

In case GPS quality is low, cannot record at the time of sales (or need to wait till internet connection)
Often the case, FS wants to record order by receiving a phone call from customers

19
Q

1205 Can I check #customer visited? *Not #visits

A

If you want to see field staff individual result
1. Go to daily activity report
2. View Customer visited

If you want to see all customer visited last month for example
1. Go to Activity report
2. Go to visit by customers
3. View #customer with visit”

20
Q

1212 How can I check frequency of visit to each customers?

A
  1. Go to activity report
  2. Go to visit by customer
  3. Change format to monthly
  4. You can see visit frequency per month
21
Q

1289 What is short visit?

A

Short visit alert is shown in Activity Report if visit duration is less than 5 minutes for all users using checkin/out function regardless of minimum standard duration of visit settings.

22
Q

1316 Why does your phone take time to receive location?

A

GPS is a satellite-based navigation system that allows users to determine their precise location and track their movement anywhere on Earth.
The time it takes for your phone to get a GPS location can vary due to several reasons:

  1. Satellite Connection: Your phone needs to connect with multiple satellites, and the time depends on their visibility in the sky.
  2. Obstructions: Buildings, trees, and obstacles can hinder GPS signals, especially in urban or indoor environments.
  3. Weather Conditions: Poor weather like heavy rain or snow can affect GPS signal quality.
  4. Device Factors: The quality of your phone’s GPS receiver and any power-saving modes can influence location acquisition time.
  5. Initial Use vs. Subsequent Use: The first time or after a while, it may take longer as the phone downloads satellite data.
  6. Network Assistance: Some phones use cellular tower information to speed up GPS acquisition.

If your phone consistently takes a long time, check for updates, ensure location services are on, and consider your surroundings. Persistent issues may require assistance from the device manufacturer or service provider.

23
Q

1317 How does the app determine the location?

A

By integrating information from the following sources, mobile devices can create a comprehensive picture of their location, enabling accurate and reliable positioning. This means that the availability and accuracy of the location varies depending on factors such as signal strength, environmental conditions and the quality of the device’s hardware and sensors

  1. GPS (Global Positioning System) satellite:
    - Mobile devices communicate with satellites in space through GPS. The device receives signals from multiple satellites, and by calculating the time it takes for the signals to reach, it determines its distance from each satellite. With this information, the device can pinpoint its location on Earth.
  2. Wi-Fi Positioning:
    - Mobile devices can use nearby Wi-Fi networks to estimate their location. By scanning for available Wi-Fi networks and comparing their signal strengths, the device can triangulate its position based on known Wi-Fi access points.
  3. Cell Tower Triangulation:
    - Mobile devices can also determine their location by communicating with nearby cell towers. The device calculates its distance from multiple cell towers, and the intersection of these distances helps in determining its location.
  4. Bluetooth and Beacons:
    - Bluetooth signals and beacon technology can contribute to location determination. By detecting nearby Bluetooth devices or beacons with known locations, the device can estimate its position.
  5. Sensors:
    - Modern smartphones are equipped with various sensors, such as accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers. These sensors provide information about the device’s movement, orientation, and direction, which can aid in refining location accuracy.

Q

1349 Can Field Staff record multiple visit report with a single customer when using checkin function?

A

With check-in function, you cannot create multiple visit report in one check-in. You need to check out once and check in the customer again. However, if “Hide check-in/out for repeat visits” is enabled, you can skip checking out and checking in again to make another visit report.

Here are important note for this function
- When there is a draft sales, another sales cannot be made.
- Standard duration will be automatically disabled.
- Short visit alerts are not displayed in Daily Activity Report, Activity Report Summary and Red-flag report.
- Suspicious visit alerts can be used, but be careful not to set the criteria value too small.
- This function are not recommended to use to record multiple transactions.

Other details follows
- Expenses will be linked to the first visit.
- The number of visits recorded will match the count of repeated activities.
eg; if Filed Staff record visit report, sales, another visit report and company report in sequence, it will register as 2 visits.
- The first visit report, sales and company report will be linked to the first visit and the second visit report will be linked to the second visit.
- Visit detail (project name, schedule, onsite/offsite including location information) will be captured from the first visit and applied to all subsequent visits.

Settings: Admin Console > Checkin Settings > Enable “Hide check-in/out for repeat visits
