- Insertion tendinopathy (within 2cm of insertion point on calcaneus)
- Mid-portion tendinopathy (2-6cm above insertion point)

- Sports that stress Achilles (eg basketball, tennis and track)
- Inflammatory conditions (eg RA and ankylosing spondylitis)
- Diabetes
- Raised cholesterol
- Fluoroquinolone antibiotics

CLINICAL FEATURES
Presentation
A
- Gradual onset of
- Pain or aching in Achilles or heel with activity
- Stiffness
- Tenderness
- Swelling
- Nodularity on palpation of tendon
