Method
1) Turn a desk portrait and draw horizontal lines in chalk spaced 20cm apart, perpendicular to the edge of the desk
2) attach the toy car to string which is connected to a pulley at the end of the desk
3) Add a mass to the end of the string by the pulley
4) hold the toy car at the starting point (0m mark which is the furthest mark from the pulley) then let go and start the timer
5) person 2 uses an iPad to take a slow motion video of the car from the moment person 1 let’s go of it to when the car reaches the final marker
6) use the video with the timer in to record the time taken for the car to pass each distance (marker)
7) repeat steps 3-6, each time decreasing the mass on the end of the string by 20g and attaching it to the car to keep overall mass constant (but force (weight pulling down on string different)
8) calculate acceleration using equation force= mass x acceleration
