who is more likely to get gastric adenocarcinoma, men or women?
Men are twice as likely as women, incidence increases with age (peak 50-70 years).
what are the two major types of gastric adenocarcinoma?
Intestinal (type 1): with well-formed glandular structures (differentiated).
Diffuse (type 2): with poorly cohesive cells (undifferentiated) that tend to infiltrate the gastric wall, may involve any part of the stomach.
what are risk factors for gastric adenocarcinoma?
- High salt diet/low fibre diet.
- Smoking.
- Male.
- Over the age of 55.
- H. Pylori. Infection.
- Family history.
- Having another type of cancer.
- Peptic stomach ulcers.

what are clinical features of early stages gastric adenocarcinoma?

- Epigastric pain.
- Nausea.
- Anorexia/weight loss.
- Vomiting.
- Dysphagia.
- Anaemia.
- Indigestion is a very common.
what is a curative treatment of gastric adenocarcinoma?
Surgery + peri-operative chemotherapy (3 cycles of neoadjuvant and 3 cycles of adjuvant).
