urinary bladder, colon, uterus (if pregnant), kidneys (cat both, dog left), small intestine, prostate (rectal), spleen (most dogs, majority of cats), liver (small dogs/cats)
how to manipulate joints
distal to proximal
manipulate each joint without moving the portion of the leg more proximally
popliteal lymph node
Press medial to lateral
Locate LN and not musculature or fat
inguinal ln palpation
not usually palpable
IM injection needle size and volum
less and 5ml, 22/25G (small)
Quadriceps site of injection landmarks
ventral aspect of ileum, greater trochanter of femur, straight patellar tendon
most vascular, large
lumbar IM injection site landmarks
L2- tuber coxae
hamstrings injection site
avoid femur, femoral/sciatic nerve
lateral saphenous venipuncture site
roll caudal to cranial when holding off
