DG Incident Reporting

A
  • Any DG incident or accident,
  • Discovery of undeclared DG in cargo or mail,
  • Finding DG carried by passengers or crew members or in their baggage,
  • NOTOC details will be included in ASR,
  • For passengers: Description of goods (quantity and package), Name/address/seat number of passenger, description of occurence

Emergency Response Guidance - Flight Crew

A
  • Follow the appropriate fire/smoke removal procedures,
  • NO SMOKING sign ON,
  • Consider landing ASAP,
  • Consider turning off non-essential electrical power,
  • Determine source of the smoke/fire/fumes,
  • For DG incident in the cabin, see CC Cheklist and coordinate CC actions,
  • Determine Emergency Drill Code,
  • Refer to QNH NNC for Smoke or Fume removal if appropriate,
  • If time available, notify ATC of at least UN number
  • After landing disembark passengers and crew before opening any cargo compartment,
  • Inform ground personnel of nature of item and where stowed,
  • Make appropriate TLB entry

Armed Escorts/Diplomatic Protection Officers

  • Company may apply to the Irish authority for an exemption for EI aircrafts,
  • Applications must be made on a flight by flight basis,
  • The person must secure approval from State of Origin as well as any overflight States,
  • Packing, labeling and marking in accordance with ICAO Technical Instructions,
  • They must be carried in the cargo hold,
  • Ammunition must be stored in a seperate compartment,
  • Flight crew will be advised

PED Usage by Passengers

A
  • Airplane/Flight Mode ON can be used during all stages of flight,
  • Commander may allow using transmitting mode on the ground with doors closed during long delays,
  • Bluetooth accessories may be used except during taxi, takeoff, approach and landing,
  • Certain medical PEDs (Portable O2 Concentrators) maybe allowed during flight,
  • For LVO all PEDs must be switched OFF,
  • If there is a doubt of PED interference with A/C systems, CC makes announcement to turn OFF all PEDs

  • Front door coupling is received by the antenna of the system (ILS, VHF),
  • Back door coupling is EMF created within aircraft which may lead to A/C system failure
