A
  • Instead of describing points using Cartesianor rectangular coordinates, you can use polar coordinates to describe points based on their distance from the origin and their angle from the polar axis.
    • In polar coordinates, a point is specified by an ordered pair (r, θ), where r is the distance of the point from the origin and θ is the angle of the point from the polar axis. The polar axis is located in the same place as the positive x-axis of a rectangular coordinate system.
