Some quadratic trigonometric equations cannot be easily solved by factoring, so use the quadratic formula.
• Review: Coefficients in the argument of a trig function change the periodof the function. To solve an equation involving trig functions with coefficients in the arguments, first solve the equation ignoring the coefficients. Then divide the solutions through by the coefficients.
• Review: Since trig functions are periodic, trig equations often have many solutions. To find all the possible solutions to a trig equation, find the solutions for a single period and then add multiples of the period to those solutions.
