- The graph of the sine function oscillates and repeats without end. The graph of the cosine function is the same as that of
the sine function shifted to the left by π/2 units.
• The amplitude of an oscillating function is half the difference between the maximum and minimum values of the function.
• The period of an oscillating function is the length of the interval over which the function goes through one full cycle before
it repeats.
