What are some drugs that pts frequently place sublingually and inflict chemical burns?
Aspirin, bisphosphonates, clorpromazine, and promazine
What are some things that can cause chemical burns?
Teeth-whitening kits, hydrogen peroxide, phenol, silver nitrate, some endo materials, and cotton rolls (not truly a chemical burn)
What are some complications that can arise from antineoplastic therapy?
Hemorrhaging, Mucositis, Xerostomia, Loss of taste, Osteoradionecrosis, Trismus, Developmental abnormalities
Pt developed this after recieving high doses of antineoplastic therapy. What could this be?
osteoradionecrosis
Pt says he was recently fighting cancer. What is this?
osteoradionecrosis
Pt is on cancer therapy regimen. What predominant problem is this?
Mucositis
Lady comes in and reports she has osteoporosis and takes bisphosphonates for it. What is this?
