  • Karl Jarres (DVP) got 39% of votes in first ballot, followed by Braun (SPD) 28%
  • Braun withdrew in favour of Marx (Z)
  • KPD refused to back down so left wing votes split
  • right rallied behind Hindenburg who won (48%)
