How to Form Imperfect Subjunctive Tense
Stems for Imperfect Subjunctive are the same as 3PP Preterite. * There are two ending types, ‘-ra’ and ‘-se.’ These are all the same for all 3 verb types (-ar/-er/-ir.) The 1PS and 3PS are the same in both cases. The final letter of the stem in the case of 1PP takes a tilde in all cases. Most important point: of these two ending types, THEY MEAN THE SAME and they are interchangeable; the –ra endings are the most common.
