Government
Land in which a nation dwells
Country
Man’s attempt to put himself in place of or above God.
Humanism
Rulers with absolute power, born into office, rule unto death, makes laws and enforces them
Absolute Monarchy
Rule by one man who usually comes to power by force
Dictatorship
Ruler that is born into office, limited in power
Constitutional Monarchy
A government that is run by representatives of the people. No particular group have all the power. Ruler is called a president. The U.S. has a republican government under the Constitution.
Republic
Was built to reach the heavens and to keep people from being scattered abroad upon the faces of the whole earth. Was the beginning of the different languages of mankind.
Tower of Babel
A large body of people who think of themselves as one and are united under one ruler and subject to the same general laws.
Nation
A book of maps
Atlas
Shows land and water areas and gives their names.
Physical Map
Shows nations, cities, and states; also rivers, lakes and other waters.
Political Map
The false idea that man began as an animal and slowly changed into man.
Evolution
The human development of new knowledge and greater skills throughout history.
Progress
Not the same as Evolution
The only true and reasonable record of where we came from.
