A
If epiglottitis is suspected, do not visualize throat. Minimalize stimulation and allow secretions to drain by leaning pt forward
Nebulized albuterol for bronchospasm, repeat as indicated
Atrovent to be used with albuterol for bronchospasm
CPAP for dyspnea associated with CHF, COPD exacerbation, or asthma. Start with peep of 5 increase by 2.5-5 to relief of dyspnea wjile systolic>90
Midazolam for anxiety related to CPAP while SBP>90
NTG for dyspnea associated with CHF while SBP>90 may repeat twice at 3-5 minute intervals
NTG paste for dyspnea associated with CHF while SBP>90
