What is meant by urgency of task ?
The more urgent the task the quicker it will need to be dealt with. E.g power failure would need to be dealt with immediately
What is meant by importance of the task ?
Dealing with externals is usually given more importance than internals. E.g if a presentation needs to be made for a new client this is more important than a internal appraisal meeting.
What is meant by length of time required to complete a task ?
This may influence the order in which tasks are completed. Short tasks maybe completed first then the long ones.
What is meant by significance of the originator ?
Depending on who has requested the task to be completed it will impact the order of the task.
What is meant by interactivity of the task ?
Some tasks can be completed once someone else has completed their tasks. E.g brochures can only be printed once the necessary department have completed their section.
What is meant by suitability for delegation ?
Certain tasks can be delegated to others to complete. Allows managers to focus on other important tasks.
What is meant by proximity of appointments ?
Improves efficiency by completing tasks that are in close proximity to each other with regards to the location.
What is meant by resource constraints ?
Business looking to reduce costs may limit the amount of resources they are using. This may require them to be selective in the typos of project.
What is meant by time commitment ?
Staff are working in a team situation then they need to ensure that they are available at the same time. Everyone needs to ensure they are available for the task
What is meant by diary clashes ?
If a team meeting is required but 2 members are not available for a couple of weeks then the meeting will need to be rescheduled.
What is meant by complexity of task?
If workers are busy then they may put off completing complex tasks in exchange for completing simpler ones.
