There are only ever so many working hours within a week and a heavy workload may result in staff needed to prioritise tasks by completing the most important ones first
Why is conflicting demands on time a reason for prioritising business tasks
When there are a number of tasks that need completing and some even needing to be done at the same time which all require your attention, you would have to make a decision on the priority of each task about which task will be completed first.
Why is meeting deadlines a reason for prioritising business tasks
Meeting deadlines is important to ensure the smooth running of the business or projects and to maintain business reputation, profits and sales.
Deadlines may be internal ( set within the organisation) or external ( Set by a customer or external stakeholder)
Deadlines also may be interim ( Deadlines set for small parts of a large project) or final (deadline for the entire project)
certain deadlines are more important then others requiring the need to prioritise.
