What is city property?
Any item belonging to the city that is not disposable in its design.
What is the dollar threshold for lost or stolen city property to start an investigation?
$200 or more
What shall an employee’s supervisor do if property over $200 is lost or stolen?
Issue 48 hour notice and conduct preliminary investigation. Include incident report, employee letter to commander and supervisor letter to commander
Who shall determine the value or cost of a lost or stolen city property item?
The unit purchasing or distributing the item
What shall occur if city property is lost or stolen that is valued between $50-200?
Notify supervisor. If culpability exists, no special circumstances and employee accepts and agrees to restitution then you may conduct supervisory intervention
What shall occur if city property is lost or stolen that is valued at less than $50?
Report to supervisor, conduct investigation for culpability. If no special circumstances then city will replace at no cost to employee
What shall occur if city property is lost or stolen that is value at nothing?
Still notify supervisor, investigate for culpability, if no special circumstance replace at no cost to employee
What are the special circumstances for lost or stolen property?
Compromised security, embarrassment to HPD, part of pattern of misconduct, negligent circumstances, misuse of COH property
How will employees or surviving spouses replace award pins?
contacting awards coordinator
Where do employees making restitution in a single payment method go to and when?
B&F and within 15 days of receipt
What is the process for employees making payroll deductions for restitution?
COH Administration and Regulatory Affairs will forward repayment plan to employee. Who will then have 15 days to contact payroll to set up the plan
What is procedure for lost or stolen government property that does not belong to COH?
process for $200 and above regardless of value
