What are transcription factors?
They are proteins that bind to the DNA in the nucleus and affect the process of transcribing the genetic material
What is transcription?
The process by which the genetic code of the DNA is copied to a complementary strand of mRNA
What are promoter sequences
specific regions of DNA
How do cells become specialised
Through differential gene expression, a chemical stimulus produces active mRNA, leading to the synthesis of proteins which, in turn, control cell processes or determine cell structure in animals and plants
name the molecule with segments of DNA or RNA containing information coding for a protein or peptide sequence
exons
name the molecule with segments of DNA o RNA containing information which does not code for a protein or peptide sequence.
introns.
