Infection
When a disease causing organism invades and begins growing in another organism.
Disease
If the invasion and growth of the pathogen impair bodily functions.
Pathogens
Organisms that are infectious and cause disease.
Prion
Various abnormal proteins that are abnormal forms of cellular proteins. They cause normal proteins to convert to abnormal form.
Virus
Non-living, sub microscope infective agents which reproduce using their host cells. The have a DNA or RNA core and have a protein coat surrounding it.
Bacteria
A single celled, prokaryotic organism.
Protists
Any eukaryotic organism that is not an animal, land plant or fungus.
Fungi
Saprophytic and parasitic spore-producing eukaryotic organisms that lack chlorophyll, such as molds, rusts, mildews, smuts, mushrooms, and yeasts.
