Ophthalmoscope
An instrument for inspecting the retina and other parts of the eye.
Visual acuity
The clarity of sharpness of vision vision. (20/20) (Distance [ft] from the chart/Distance [ft] of normal vision reading the line correctly)
Otoscope
An instrument designed for visual examination of the eardrum and the passage of the outer ear, typically having a light and a set of lenses.
Tonsils
Lymph nodes in the back of the mouth and top of the throat. They help to filter out bacteria and other germs to prevent infection in the body. A bacterial or viral infection can cause tonsillitis. Strep throat is a common cause.

Dermatologist
A medical practitioner specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of skin disorders.
Auscultation
The action of listening to sounds from the heart, lungs, or other organs, typically with a stethoscope, as a part of medical diagnosis.
Vesicular sounds
Soft, blowing, or rustling sounds normally heard throughout most of the lung fields
Adventitious lung sounds
Sounds that are heard in addition to the expected vesicular sounds.
Lung Sounds: Clear
A clear woosh of air with each inhalation and exhalation.
Lung Sounds: Wheezing
A high-pitched whistling sound caused by narrowed airways; can sometimes be heard without a stethoscope.
Lung Sounds: Crackles (rales)
Short and intermittent clicking, rattling, or popping sounds heard during inhalation when air is forced through an airway narrowed by fluid.
Lung Sounds: Stridor
Harsh, shrill sound, similar to wheezing, usually heard closest to the back of the neck, as it is caused by a partially obstructed windpipe.
Lung Sounds: Rhonchi
A snore-like sound heard when airways are partially obstructed.
Palpate
Examine a part of the body by touch.
