What is hemorrhagic stroke?
When a blood vessel of the brain ruptures and blood accumulates in the tissue around the rupture => P on the brain and a loss of blood to certain areas
Causes
Aneurysm & arteriovenous malformation
Intracerebral hemorrhage: High BP, injury, bleeding disorders, deformities in blood vessels (aneurysm)
Symptoms
Total or limited loss of consciousness
Nausea and vomiting
Sudden and severe headache
Weak. or numb feeling in the face, leg, or arm on one side of the body
Subarachnoid hemorrhage: Thunderclap headache
Diagnosis
CT/MRI, LP
Heart: ECG
2 types
Intracerebral hemorrhage: Bleeding within the brain.
Subarachnoid hemorrhage : A blood vessel on the surface of the brain ruptures => P in the “subarachnoid” space
