2.4 (Supervisory control and data acquisition - SCADA) Flashcards
What is SCADA?
A SCADA system is a combination of hardware and software that enables the automation of industrial processes by capturing Operational Technology (OT) real-time data.
SCADA connects the sensors that monitor equipment like motors, pumps, and valves to an onsite or remote server.
Large-scale systems that manage power generation, refining, manufacturing and industrial etc.
Why are SCADA used?
They are separate from the normal network, because if energy and resources go down then we are fucked. Or if they are hacked too. So they are private and separated for many reasons.
