What is SDN?

A

Software defined networking.

Infrastructure later/data plane: process network, forwarding and encypting etc.

Control later/control plane: manages actions of data plane, routing tables and protocol updates.

Application layer/management plane: config and manage the device, SSH, browser using software to interact like with Azure.

Software-defined networking (SDN) is an architecture that abstracts different, distinguishable layers of a network to make networks agile and flexible.

The goal of SDN is to improve network control by enabling enterprises and service providers to respond quickly to changing business requirements.
