Manages multiple printers at a time. Printer requests from client computers and adds jobs to a queue.
WHAT IS A FILE SERVER?
Users can access shared and private storage
WHAT IS AN APPLICATION SERVER?
Users access to applications that can be directly from server

- Centralized administration - resources/user accounts managed by administrator. Support can be provided by people who have an overview of network.
- Centralised backups- user data protect from loss - backups automated for all users
- Shared software application
- Shared storage and file access - makes file available to others
- Roaming profiles (hot desk) - ability to log into any computer in an office to see your settings and files.
