Displays list of options, triggers command, then displays another list. EASIER TO USE - TIME CONSUMING.
GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE
EASIEST TYPE!!
Controlled by pointer. Takes more memory and storage.
VOICE INTERFACE
EG - CORTANA
Spoken commands. Voice recognition matches spoken words with library to find a match. REQUIRES INTERNET - MIGHT NOT UNDERSTAND - HAND-FREE OPERATION - CAN IMPROVE ROAD SAFETY.
GESTURE INTERFACE
Control device with fingers on screen. Zoom in/out. Touch screen.
CONNECTIVITY
You can share data by connecting using wired/wireless. Can be used to update software, backup files, play media between devices.
FEATURES OF WIRED CONNECTIVITY
Faster and reliable. Additional cost, mess, inconvenience, hazards.
MEDIA SUPPORT
EG - FLASH MEMORY CARDS, DvDs, MICROSD
Devices can read and write data to different medias. Adapters can be connected to provide connectivity to external devices where media can NOT be inserted.
ENERGY CONSUMPTION
Devices require energy (electricity) to work. Lower energy consumption means longer battery life.
EXPANSION CAPABILITIES
Allow installation of additional comppnents and expansion slots to make use of flash memory cards. Systems can expands with ports (eg, USB ports, allows extra devices connected called peripheral devices).
