What happens in stage 1 of demographic transition?
High birth and death rates lead to slow population growth
What happens in stage 2 of demographic transition?
The death rate falls but the birth rate remains high, leading to faster population growth.
What happens in stage 3 of demographic transition?
The birth rate starts to fall, so population growth starts to slow.
What happens in stage 4 of demographic transition?
The birth rate reaches the same low level as the death rate, so population growth slows to zero.
How do you know if a country is developing?
When there is more people that are 0-14 than the rest of the population’s age.

How can an age structure diagram be used to predict population growth?
You must draw 2 lines. The ages between a female can reproduce, so 15-44. Then, if the younger population has more people then there will be higher population growth.
