1.2 Flashcards
What is the definition of x?
the variable that changes/independent variable
List the important characteristics of x.
It’s the variable that changes, however, only one part of the scenario gets changed.
What is the definition of y
the variable that is the respondent/dependent variable
List the important characteristics of y.
The dependent variable depends on other values.
What is the relationship between x and y?
The x is the horizontal variable in which it changes and the y is the vertical variable which depends on the other variables.
What’s the difference between mass and volume?
Mass is the amount of matter, and volume is the amount of space
How to find standard deviation
Find the mean, Find the variance, square each of the differences, add it all together and divide by the number of data points. Then, take the square root of that number.
Is this a direct, indirect, constant, non-linear, or peak
A graph that is steadily going downward
indirect
How to find the mean?
Find the average
How to find the median
Find the middle number
