202 Flashcards
- 1 State the function of the following:
a. DISA – Defense Information Systems Agency is a combat support agency. It engineers and provides command and control capabilities and Enterprise infrastructure to continuously operate and assure a global net-centric enterprise in direct support to joint warfighters, National level leaders, and other mission and coalition partners across the full spectrum of operations.
b. NCDOC – Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command coordinates, monitors, and oversees the defense of Navy computer networks and systems and is responsible for accomplishing Computer Network Defense (CND) missions as assigned by Commander, U.S. Tenth Fleet and Commander, Joint Task Force - Global Network Operations (JTF-GNO).
c. GNOSC – The Global Network Operations and Security Center provides situational awareness for the myriad of networks, systems and applications that make up the Global Information Grid (GIG) and protect/defend that grid from potential cyber threats.
d. RNOSC – The Regional Network Operations Support Center will coordinate closely with, and provide users and higher echelons with network status reports and access to real-time data. Additionally, they maintain records pertaining to customer information, local tier control center and site coordinator contact information, network resources, faults and outages, and remotely manage and control lower echelon systems through the Enterprise Network Management System (ENMS).
e. TNOSC – The Theater Network Operations Security Center has regional responsibilities for Information Assurance and the operation and security of the regional Navy networks.
f. MSC ANOC – The Military Sealift Command Afloat Network Operations Center is a round the clock operations center supporting USNS units around the world.
202.2 Define and state the purpose of a FLTNOC:
- FLEET NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTERS (FLTNOC) - Naval shore communications has evolved from a series of isolated shore based radio stations to a highly sophisticated communications infrastructure. The requirement to support integrated voice, video, and data has increased the complexity of a typical communications shore station. Consequently, The Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Stations (NCTAMS) were developed to provide operational direction and management.
202.3 Define and state the location and services provided of the following FLTNOC’s:
a. UARNOC - Unified Atlantic Region Network Operations Center located in Norfolk, Virginia
b. PRNOC - Pacific Region Network Operations Center located at NCTAMS PAC, Wahiawa, Hawaii
c. ECRNOC - European Central Region Network Operations Center located at NCTS Naples, Naples, Italy
d. IORNOC - Indian Ocean Region Network Operations Center located at NCTS Bahrain, Manama, Bahrain
202.4 Explain the three criteria that must be met in order to receive IP services from FLTNOCs:
- Must have a valid Interim Authority to Operate (IATO) or Authority to Operate (ATO) obtained from NETWARCOM Network Authorizing Officer (NAO, formerly DAA). The unit Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM, formerly IAM) can provide guidance on validating or obtaining an (I)ATO.
- Submit an IP services request message in accordance with Global Communications Information Bulletin (GCIB) 3A.
- If service will be provided via satellite communications link, a valid Satellite Access Authorization (SAA) for the intended satellite RF path is required.
202.5 Define and state the purpose of N2N:
- NOC To NOC provides FLTNOC interconnectivity and restoral capability should a FLTNOC lose connectivity on their DISN path. If a FLTNOC is unable to utilize their DISN connection, their outbound network traffic will automatically be diverted across the IPT-PE to another FLTNOC to utilize their DISN path.
202.6 State the DON controlling authority for IP assignments:
- DoD Network Information Center
202.7 State which CIB provides guidance for IP service requests for the following:
a. SIPRNET/NIPRNET – GCIB 3A
b. SI Services – GCIB 20H
202.8 Name the controlling authority for Navy firewall policies:
- DON Chief Information Officer (DON CIO)
- COMNAVNETWARCOM ?
202.9 Name the instruction that governs all computer network incident responses:
- OPNAVINST 2201.2 Computer Incident Response
202.10 State the location of the US Navy Fleet SINOC’s:
a. NCTAMS PAC - Wahiawa, Hawaii
b. NCTS Hampton Roads - Norfolk, Virginia
202.11 Define and state the purpose of MOSS:
- Microsoft Officer SharePoint Server- is a product in the Microsoft SharePoint family of products, it runs on top of Windows SharePoint Services (WSS). MOSS builds on WSS by adding both core features as well as end user web parts. Its main strengths are that it enables an organization’s information to be organized and aggregated in one central, web-based application and it provides a taxonomy for corporate data.
202.12 Define and state the purpose of CAS:
- Collaboration at Sea is a web-based portal for information collaboration. It provides a set of tools that allow replication of information. The goal of Collaboration at Sea is to allow a geographically dispersed/mobile organization to collaborate around the world using a web browser as the least common denominator. CAS is a tool set that allows users to share knowledge and information around the world using minimum bandwidth.
202.13 Define and state the purpose of JCA:
- Joint Services Imagery Processing Systems (JSIPS-N) Concentrator Architecture (JCA) was developed for the fast and efficient delivery of imagery while providing increased flexibility in bandwidth management. The JCA is a client-server based architecture, with web-like browsing features and capabilities for fleet imagery subscribers that is scalable up to 8Mbps. It provides the fleet with a SECRET, GENSER, user-friendly network-centric, imagery delivery system. Replaced by GBS?
