What is the difference between outputs, outcomes, and benefits and what do they all contribute to?
They all contribute to scope.
Outputs - tangible/intangible deliverables that are created from the project.
Outcomes - Changed circumstances as part of the project
Benefits - Acceptance criteria being realised.
What does a PBS do?
A product breakdown structure identifies the scope to be delivered - it breaks down the final product into outputs and sub-products, each of which has an acceptance criteria and quality control methods.
What does a WBS do?
A work breakdown structure defines the activities that need to be completed to deliver the project requirements.
What does a CBS do?
Costs are assigned to WBS tasks or to OBS functional areas. Can be used to track progress.
Why should a project re-estimate and optimise schedule?
this will help to increase confidence for stakeholders
there will be a greater involvement of the project team
there is an opportunity to apply lessons learned
can accept the impact of risks
What link should be remembered in schedules?
There may be dependencies between BAU and projects.
