What is Acute cystitis?
Bacterial infection of the bladder (infection in lower UT)
What is Acute pyelonephritis?
Bacterial infection of upper (ureters, kidney’s, renal pelvis)
When it is considered to be an uncomplicated UTI?
- Not pregnant
- normal urinary
- no co-morbidities
do you need all of the uncomplicated UTI to meet the criteria?

Gram-negative
What bacteria causes most of the UTI’s?
E. coli
