To avoid contamination and make sure only cells wanted are being grown and to make sure not too many are made as they could cause disease.

- Putting glassware in an autoclave(cleans with high pressure and steam to kill all micro organisms).

To make sure the right nutrients are there for what you want to grow.

Why is it important to control abiotic factors?
A
For safety so that not too many grow as they are dangerous in large numbers and can cause disease.
