A
changes:
- to the church
- royal household
- control of the nobility
- foreign policy shifted to aggressive, forcing the king to levy taxes to fight costly wars especially w/ France and Scotland
- church was fragmented, priests had to choose whether to engage with Protestantism or become martyr’s for their beliefs
- increasing number of enclosures (disturbed village life)

- governance of realm still dependent on the monarch
- reduced power of the nobility further than his father
- most would still refer to themselves as catholics

- even the ‘crisis’ in the next 2 reins weren’t enough to topple to tudor dynasty that had been so well established by VII/VIII
