That unions should exist to preserve fair practice in the workplace but there must be a recognition that wages are market driven

There should be a national health service that provides universal care according to need. This service is paid for by general taxation and is free for all

- Advocates healthcare reform, recognises that the cost of universal healthcare is unsustainable
- Supports prescription charges and private healthcare for the rich to ‘jump the queue’ for non-essential healthcare
What do social democrats believe should happen with key industries?
The key utilities are brought under government control and operate in the collective interest of all
What does the 3rd Way believe in regards to key industries?
That the free market is the most efficacious way to run business. They do not support renationalising state utilities
