what is a feasibility study?

- an assessment of the practicality of a design/plan as a formal document which shows analysis, research and evaluation, as well as testing prototypes with potential customers

what is the purpose of a feasibility study?
A
- to determine if a project is technically feasible, cost effective and profitable

examples of feasibility studies (3)
A
- cost- spreadsheets etc can be used to calculate production costs and determine whether a project will be cost effective or if cost of manufacture/materials/workers needs to be re-evaluated
- ergonomics- CAD modelling can be used to test ergonomics (eg kitchens- working triangle)
- prototyping- can be functional or non-functional. used to get feedback from potential customers
