A document issued by the project initiator or sponsor that formally authorizes the existence of a project, and provides the project manager with the authority to apply organizational resources to project activities
Project Charter
A formal, approved document that defines how the project is executed, monitored and controlled. It may be summary or detailed and may be composed of one or more subsidiary management plans and other planning documents
Project Management Plan
Products or services that meets their acceptance criteria specified in the contract/agreement
Accepted Deliverables
They are available for employees to refer to when working on similar projects
Archived Project Document
A collection of generally sequential project phases whose name and number are determined by th econtrol needs of the organizations involved in the project. A life cycle can be documented with a methodology.
Project Life Cycle
A collection of generally sequential, non-overlapping product phases whose name and number are determined by the manufacturing and control needs of the organization. The last product life cycle phase for a product is generally the product’s life cycles
Product Life Cycle
A collection of logically related project activities, usually culminating in the completion of a major deliverable. Project phases are mainly completed sequentially, but can overlap in some project situations. Phases can be subdivided into subphases and the n components; their hierarchy, if the project or portions of the project are divided into phases, is contained in the work breakdown structure. A project phase is a component of a project life cycle. A project phase is not a project management process group.
Project Phases
Is the set us rules, procedures and policies that determine how projects are managed and overseen
Project Goverance
Where a phase can only start one the previous phase is complete
Sequential Relationship
Where the phase starts prior to completion of the previous one
Overlapping Relationship
Where only one phase is planned at any given time and the planning for the next is carried out as work progresses on the current phase and deliverables
