The meaning of calorie-free
Less than 5 calories
The meaning of sugar free
Less than a half gram of sugar
Means a food has the least possible amount of that specified nutrient
“free”
What does very low and low mean
The food has little more than the foods labeled free
What does “ reduced” or “less” mean?
The food has 25% less of a specific nutrient than the regular version of the food
What does fat free mean
Less than a half gram of fat
What does low fat mean
3 grams of fat or less
What does low in saturated fat mean
1 grams of saturated fat or less, with not more than 15% of the calories coming from saturated fat.
What does lean mean
