10 Flashcards
Continuous VS Discontinuous Measurement
Similar: Both record bx of interest
Different: Continuous records each instance of bx during observation, Discontinuous records only some of the instances of bx during observation
Whole interval
Time sampling measurement procedure in which observation period divided into intervals, and at the end of the interval record whether bx occurred during entire interval or not
Partial interval
Time sampling measurement procedure in which observation period divided into intervals, and at the end of the interval record whether bx occurred at any point in the interval
Momentary
Time sampling measurement procedure in which observation period divided into intervals, and at the end of the interval record whether bx is occurring right then
Lawfulness of behavior
Because we believe in determinism, we believe in lawfulness of behavior; bx occurs as results of other variables (FR between antecedent and consequence variables)
Rate
The number of times a bx occurred during an specific time interval
Frequency
The number of times a bx occurs
Latency
The amount of time that elapses btwn onset of stimulus and initiation of response
Topography
The form of a bx; what a bx looks like
Duration
How long the bx occurs for
IRT
The amount of time btwn two successive responses
Percent
Number of times bx occurred divided by number of opportunities
Trials to Criterion
Number of responses or opportunities needed for a person to achieve a pre-established level of accuracy
Magnitude
Intensity / force of bx
Celeration
Change in rate of responding over time
