the priest took out a bottle gourd, removed the stopper and placed it in the middle of the smoke

with a woosh the smoke was sucked into the gourd

in a very short time the smoke has gone, the priest replaced the stopper and put it back into his punch

then they left

chen was greading the priest at the gate, crying and asking him to bring her husband back to life

I don’t have enough skill to bring dead back to life

she felt it entering her throat, hard like a cotton wadding, slowly running down and then stucked in her chest

she followed him entering the temple
迫而求之，不知所在，前后冥搜，殊无端兆
míngsou, shu wu duan zhào
She forced herself to beg on him again but didn’t know where he was. She was looking for him everywhere but couldn’t find a trace of him
惭恨而归
cán hèn ér gui
she felt ashamed and regret and so she went home
既悼亡夫之惨，又悔食唾之羞，俯仰哀啼
ji dao wang fu zhi can, you hui shi tuo zhi xiu, fu yang ai ti
she mourned bitterly about the death of her husband and felt regret and shame to have eaten the spit. she raised her head and cried sorrowfully
方欲展皿敛尸，家人伫望
at the moment she wanted to wash the blood from the corps, the servant stood there and watched for a while
顿欲呕，觉膈中结物，突奔而出，不及回首，已落腔中
she suddenly had a feeling of throwing up and noticed there was sth coming up her throat. It was suddenly quickly coming out so it was too late to turn her head so it was falling into the chest of the corps
在腔中突突犹跃，然气腾蒸如烟然
it was now beating in the chest still jumping and steaming with hot smoke
大异之
much excited
少懈，则气氤氲自缝中出
for a short instant she relaxed so that the hot steam was coming out of the wound
乃裂缯帛，急束之
the she split some silk and hastily bount it around
以手抚尸，渐温
when she felt the body with her hand there was gradually some warmth
覆以衾稠
fu yi qin chou
she covered him with a bed cover
恍惚若梦，但觉腹隐痛耳
huanghu ruo meng, dan jue fu yin tong er
I was confused as if I would dream, but i still feel such a hidden pain in my stomach

all the people of the world are so foolish. it was a demon but they consider her as pretty

His wife was very jealous and beated and insulted me day and night. I couldn’t bear it anymore and so I ran away
如怜妾而活之，须秘密，无泄
if you like me and let me live here, don’t tell anybode and keep it as a secret
偶适市，遇一道士，顾生而愕问
coincidently he met the priest at the market who looked at wang and stunnedly asked
君身邪气萦绕
jun shen xieqi yingrao
an evil influence is floating in your life
感哉！世固有死将临而不悟者
How strange! some people don’t realize the truth even when death is starring them in the face
生以其言异，颇疑女，转意明明丽人，何至为妖，意道士借魇禳以猎食者
The priests words gave wang a strange feeling so that he felt some doubt about the girl. But then he thought how such a pretty person could have an evil spirit. Then he began to suspect the priest that he wanted to do some business by telling these nightmares.

睹此状，大惧，兽伏而出。
du ci zhuang, da ju, shou fu er chu
observing these circumstances with a lot of fear, the beast was crawling over and went out
此物亦良苦，甫能觅代者，予亦不忍伤其生
this creature must be in great distress, i can drive her away from you but i cannot bear to take her life
宁入口而吐之耶
how come i have sth in my mouth and how could i spit it out
