When should you stop studying Torah?
When you die.
Once a person is more advanced, how should he divide his learning?
From time to time study Torah and Mishneh. But mostly focus on the Talmud. As long as he is able to concentrate.
If a student doesn’t understand something, what should she do?
Ask again until you understand it. If the teacher gets mad, say “teacher this is important and my דעת is brief”
Should you nap in a Beit Midrash?
No
If you sneeze in a Beit Midrash, should other people say “bless you”
No, they should keep to their studies.
Which is holier, a synagogue or a Beit Midrash?
A Beit Midrash
If you are studying Torah and you have a chance to do a Mitzvah, what should you do?
If someone else can perform the Mitzvah then keep studying and let the other person do the Mitzvah.
If no one else can do the Mitzvah, then stop studying, do the Mitzvah, then return to studying Torah.
When a person dies, what is the first thing he is judged on?
Whether he learned Torah. Only after that will he be judged on all of his other deeds.
One should always learn Torah, even if it is not Lishma. Why?
Because if you learn for not its own sake, you will come to learn Torah for its own sake.
Can you spend all of your time learning Torah and live off of welfare (the charity plate)?
No. It is using Torah for your own enjoyment, and it is ridiculing the Torah.
Should you have a job while you are learning Torah?
Yes.
Should you learn quickly and silently?
No you should learn by saying the words and learn slowly.
What is a seudat Mitzvah?
When you finish leaning a masechet, you throw a festive meal.
Can you learn Torah in a filthy place?
No.
Thats why Torah scholars shouldn’t stand in filthy places; so they don’t speak words of Torah there. But they can go to the bath house, just don’t speak Torah there.
