What are values in hyperspace?
The actual raw data stored in a field. For example when you display the information, the raw data is the same as the text shown.
What are pointers in hyperspace?
The raw data points to information stored somewhere else.
What are three ways to prevent users from accessing a record?
Active/Inactive settings, soft delete, hard delete (in chronicles)
Can a hard-delete be undone?
NO.
What do you use category lists for?
Standardization of responses for reporting, user efficiency, selected values can be used to trigger other functionality in the system.
What are the different types of category lists?
System, Extendible and Customer
What are systems category list?
Entirely controlled by EPIC. These are not editable by customers.
What are Extendible category lists?
Partially controlled by Epic where certain values on the list cannot be edited.
What are Customer category lists?
Fully controlled by customers.
How can you tell if a field with a selection list is coming from a master file or category list?
When you click on the magnifying glass it will show “masterfile have been loaded” or “category list have been loaded”
What would not be a suitable synonym for married? Why?
Marry because it begins with the same letters.
