What are the three types of Discounts?
Self-Pay, Sliding Scale and Pricing Contracct
What is the Self-Pay Discount used for?
Rule based discounts. e.g. Most customer-specific discounts
What is the Sliding Scale Discount?
Rule based discount based on FPL data. e.g. Financial Assistance
What is the Pricing Contract Discount?
Discounts for a specific guarantor account or visit. e.g. corporate or research study accounts.
Restrictions: Service areas—if listed what does it mean?
It means that only service areas listed in this box can use this table.
When determining a self-pay discount, what is the first place the system looks for?
Fee schedule.
What is the default discount % for?
The percentage to apply as a discount if the procedure is not listed in the fee schedule, procedure components, and the excluded procedure components.
How can you use a self-pay discount table?
It has to be created, activated and entered into the Discount Determination table along with a rule indicating when the discounts should be applied.

Where would you enable self-pay discounts?
In Text, must enable in Service Area (under System Procedures).
When “Apply Disc When Charge is Covered” is set to “NO”, what does that mean?
It means that Discount is applied when changed to SP. If it is “yes”, the discount is applied before going to insurance.
