What does SER stand for?
Scheduled Epic Resource. It is also the INI for provider master file
What’s in the Provider Name field
The name of the provider or resource. This is a required field.
What is the Provider Type field?
Determines the procedures the provider can perform, pricing information, and adjudication. Also indicates the provider’s classification in terms of education and services provided.
Is Ref Src Type a required field?
Yes
What is the Ref Src Type field?
Provider’s referral source type. Are they the referral source or can they make a referral.
Specialty Field
Used to categorize services performed by the provider.
Status Field
Active or Inactive
Can Inactive providers be selected as PCPs?
No. They also cannot be selected for scheduling purposes.
Can inactive providers be used in Charge Entry?
Yes.
What is the Provider SA field?
List of service areas authorized for this provider. Leave blank to authorize for all areas.
NPI
National Provider ID
Service Provider
Provider who rendered the service. They may not appear on a claim.
Billing Provider
Provider whose license number shows up on the claim.

A list of service provider effective date contacts.
