How do you write up a stat test?

A
  1. State whether the calculated value is greater than/less than the critical value
  2. Then state if the null is accepted or rejected
  3. Write out the relevant hypothesis
  4. Report the figures in brackets (report the calculated value, number of participants in the analysis, if p is more than or less than 0.05 and write whether the hypothesis was one of two tailed

How do you know whether to accept or reject the null hypothesis?

A

If it is significant you reject the null and if it’s not significant you accept the null

How do you know if p is more than or less than 0.05?

A

If the null hypothesis is accepted p is higher than 0.05 but if the experimental hypothesis is accepted then p is less than 0.05
