Workplace Violence

Question 1

The OHSA requires the employee to assess the risk of workplace violence that may arise from the nature of the workplace, the TYPE of work or the conditions of work. The assessment shall take into account:

Answer 1

1. CIRCUMSTANCES that would be COMMON to similar workplaces
2. CIRCUMSTANCES SPECIFIC to the workplace

And

3. Any other prescribed element

Question 2

the OIC shall ensure:

1. Members are aware of how to immediately summon assistance if workplace violence occurs
2. Any complainant / witness is protected from reprisal and comply with 13-18
3. The workplace is not toxic or poisoned
