What is Wolff-parkinsons white syndrome?
Accessory pathway caused by depolarisation of the ventricles, between the atria and ventricles presenting as a delta wave in the initial phase of the QRS complex.
How do I recognise Wolff-parkinsons white syndrome?
- QRS greater than 0.10 Seconds or 2 1/2 small squares.
- Delta wave present as a widening and slurring of the upstroke of the R-Wave.
- Possible short PR interval (Less than 0.12 seconds or 3 small squares).
What leads will Wolff-Parkinsons white be present in?
Not always present in each leaves so will require each lead to be reviewed carefully.
Signs and symptoms of Wolff-parkinsons white syndrome?
Can be Asymptomatic unless arrhythmia is exacerbated.
- may get syncope

- The Accessory pathway is sometimes referred to as the ‘bundle of kent’.
How does a person get Wolff -Parkinsons white syndrome?
This is a congenital condition that occurs during fetal development.
How should Wolff-parkinsons white syndrome be treated?
Usually self-isoalting however this should be treated according to how the patient presents.
