2nd degree Atrioventricular block mobitz type 2 Flashcards

1
Q

Q

How do I recognise 2nd AVB mobitz type 2

A

-More P-waves than QRS complexes

-PR interval may be normal or meet 1AVB criteria

  • QRS complex dropped following a P-Wave.

Q

what is significance - 2nd AVB mobitz type 2

A

It is important to detect if the rhythm is 2AVB mobitz type 1 or Mobitz Type 2 as treatment can change locally.

Mobitz type 2 can present in a pattern form. If so it is often classified in ratios - for example if there are 2 P-waves before a QRS complex this is termed 2:1 ratio.

If there are 3 p waves preceding a QRS complex this is a ratio 3:1.
