These two formulas share all but one herb. Li Zhong Wan is for more severe Qi Deficiecny with more pronounced damp. Si Jun Zi Tang is for a minor Qi Deficiency. This formula is to help calm to maintain steady function.

Balanced. The up and down movement mimics the dispersing and descending and the movement and transformation function of Qi.

This might present with even more blockage than the other two formulas - and the lifting moving action of the herbs would address this. progressively more moving: Si Jun Zi Tang -> Yi Gong Sao -> Liu Jun Zi Tang

this is more for a stagnation than a deficiency - because five of the herbs: Ban Xia, Chen Pi, Bai Zhu, Mu Xiang and Sha Ren (and also Sheng Jiang) are all on the moving UP side of the formula. With Fu Ling moving down and only Ren Shen and Gan Cao to nourish. Deficiency is no longer the priority of the treatment.
